Licence terms

Version 1.0, 26 October 2026

In short

  • You buy a right to use the report, not the report itself: obv.studio keeps ownership.
  • Business licence: the report can circulate freely inside the company that bought it, and nowhere else.
  • You can quote a few figures in your presentations, crediting the source. The full PDF never leaves your company.
  • The report must not be uploaded to any artificial intelligence tool.

The detailed terms below prevail. For any question, or a use not covered here: rafael@obv.studio.

1. Scope

These terms apply to any study, report or presentation (the "Report") sold by Rafael Janosevic, sole trader operating under the obv.studio brand, SIREN 911 230 746 ("obv.studio"), whether bought through the Shop or on quotation.

The buyer (the "Licensee") accepts them by ticking the box provided at checkout, or by signing a quotation or contract that refers to them. A licence agreement signed between obv.studio and the Licensee prevails over these terms where they differ.

2. What you buy

  • A non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable licence to use the Report. No sub-licensing.
  • No ownership is transferred. obv.studio retains all rights in the Report, its methodology, typologies, scores, visuals and the underlying database.
  • Raw survey data (individual responses, source files) is not included.
  • The licence has no time limit and covers the version of the Report purchased. Updates and later editions are not included.

3. Business licence: who can use the Report

  • Employees of the legal entity that bought the Report, i.e. the one named on the invoice.
  • Its interns, apprentices and independent contractors, during their assignment, provided they are bound by confidentiality.

Other companies, subsidiaries or brands of the same group are not covered. An extension is available on request. The Licensee is responsible for compliance with these terms by everyone it gives access to.

4. Personal licence

A personal licence is for strictly individual, non-commercial use. The Report may not be shared or used in a professional context. Professional use requires a business licence.

5. Permitted uses

  • Reading, consulting and printing the Report for your internal needs.
  • Storing it on internal tools (email, shared drive, intranet) accessible only to authorised persons.
  • Using it to inform your thinking, recommendations and strategic or creative work.

6. Quoting the Report

In presentations to your clients

With a business licence, you may use up to 5 figures or visuals from the Report per presentation, provided that you:

  • credit the source on each extract: "Source: obv.studio, [report title], [year]";
  • do not distort the extracts or present them as your own work;
  • do not publish the presentation (website, social media, press, public event).

The full Report, or a substantial part of it, may never be handed to a client or third party. A client who wants to read it buys their own licence.

In public content

Briefly quoting a figure or an idea in an article, post or talk is free, with the source credited. Reproducing pages, full charts or series of figures requires written permission.

7. Prohibited uses

Unless obv.studio has given prior written permission, you may not:

  • pass on or give access to the Report, in whole or in part, to any unauthorised person, other than the quotations allowed in section 6;
  • resell, rent, lend or otherwise exploit it commercially;
  • publish it or make it publicly available, including through an open sharing link;
  • upload it, in whole or in part, to any artificial intelligence tool, public or internal (chat assistant, summariser, searchable knowledge base, agent);
  • use it to train, fine-tune or feed any artificial intelligence model or system, or to build a dataset;
  • systematically extract its figures, text or visuals, manually or by automated means;
  • remove or alter ownership notices, licence notices or the copy marking;
  • use it to design a competing study, typology or product, or to replicate its methodology.

8. Text and data mining reservation

In accordance with article L122-5-3 of the French Intellectual Property Code and article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, obv.studio expressly reserves its rights against any text and data mining of its Reports, including for the purpose of training artificial intelligence.

9. Confidentiality and marking

The Report is confidential information. The Licensee protects it with the same care as its own confidential information. obv.studio's public communication about a Report (posts, articles, free extracts) does not release the Licensee from this obligation for the rest of the Report.

Each copy may carry the Licensee's name and a reference specific to the purchase, which identifies where a copy came from. This marking must not be removed.

10. Warranties and liability

obv.studio warrants that it holds the rights needed to grant the licence. Reports are based on self-reported surveys and interviews, whose methodology is described in each Report. They are provided as is, as a thinking aid: the Licensee remains responsible for the decisions it takes from them.

For business buyers, obv.studio's liability is limited to the price paid, except in case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

11. Breach

If these terms are breached, obv.studio may, after a formal notice left unanswered for 8 days, terminate the licence without refund and require the deletion of all copies.

For business buyers, any unauthorised distribution or use, in particular for the benefit of a third party or in an artificial intelligence tool, triggers a fixed penalty equal to three times the licence price per breach established, without prejudice to any claim for damages or for infringement.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. The parties will first seek an amicable solution. Between businesses, any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris. Individual consumers keep the rights the law gives them, including the choice of court.

These terms supplement the site terms of use. Contact: rafael@obv.studio.
