What are we running after?
A comprehensive study on Parisian running culture
Whatever the neighbourhood or the city, runners are everywhere. Race entries up 40 % in a year, dozens of running clubs, shoe drops turned into cultural events. Running is enormous, yet nobody takes the time to ask the questions that would explain it. We went and talked to runners, and their answers open onto a playing field that looks limitless. What really drives young people to start running? What do they find in it culturally, and how does the practice strengthen their identity? And what room is left for brands in an already crowded world?
